Experiencing the great outdoors relieves stress and anxiety and improves our overall well-being. Sadly, under-served children living in urban areas are often not able to enjoy nature, and we want to change that.  Due to a variety of barriers, including the  lack of access to green space and lack of transportation, many children do not have the opportunity to connect to nature. We created Outdoor Connection Kits to change this. Together, we can connect kids to nature in a new innovative way.

To make this happen- we need your help! You have the opportunity to provide kits to children living in low income communities  throughout the spring and  summer. 

Each kit contains an exciting lesson and supplies to get kids outside and will contain a wide array of fun, educational and social-emotional well-being materials. Example contents may include items such as: bird feeder making materials, chalk, jump rope, yard games, and nature art supplies.

Our lessons curriculum includes tons of fun activities AND lessons on stress reduction, mindfulness, and anxiety-reducing coping skills.

You can ensure a child has all he or she needs at camp. Almost all of our campers do not have the gear they need such as sleeping bags, beach towels, ponchos, flashlights and bug spray.  Many of our children come from homes where there aren’t extra towels or blankets that could be taken to camp since the family at home needs them. Giving children a Camp Pack eliminates their worries that they won’t be prepared or that they won’t have the same stuff as another camper. This eases their minds as they begin an unfamiliar experience.

We also need monetary donations or gift cards to purchase items that campers may not own but need on an as-needed basis. It’s common for our campers to need bathing suits, shower shoes and sweatshirts.
